Do you know someone needing surgery?
As we age, the wear and tear on our body may require us to go into hospital for surgery, this could be for elective surgery or surgery due to a fall or other injury.
As Licensed Occupational Therapists, hospitals hold no fear for us, but to many people, they are a cause of worry, particularly when the person who needs the surgery is a beloved parent, someone, perhaps, who may live in another state from us.
Worry for our parents as they start to become frail is something we all do, but that worry can be decreased by our licensed occupational therapy staff.
Become educated and decrease those fears prior to the surgery. Our Licensed Occupational Therapists work with families in many ways. Firstly, we meet with you to discuss the reason for surgery, and then give professional advise on how to make the home more accessible and user friendly on the client's return. We discuss adaptive equipment, positioning and use of clients furniture, safety in the home, precautions for particular ailments and more........
